Systemair commits to setting science-based targets

Systemair takes another step to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, both from its own operations and throughout the value chain of its products. By committing to science-based targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Systemair receives external verification of its environmental performance.

For several years Systemair has reduced its emissions from its own operations (scope 1 & 2). Work is now being expanded to identify and understand emissions outside its own operations in other parts of the value chain (scope 3).

The science-based targets through the Science Based Targets initiative will be based on data from both the company´s own operations and from other parts of the value chain. The targets will include a short-term with a time horizon of about 2030 and also a long-term, so called, net-zero target, where the EU for example has set year 2050.

Science Based Targets is a collaboration between, among others, WWF and the UN Global Compact, where SBT evaluates and approves companies´ targets. More than 4,000 companies are registered by SBT.
