Sustainable
Development Goals

The United Nations' Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At Systemair a sustainable development is central and we contribute to that by focusing on our core business and by engaging in initiatives that give a more sustainable future.

As a core part of our strategy, sustainability is an integral part of our business, enabling a holistic approach that creates value for all our stakeholders. Our sustainability strategy focuses on four areas that contribute to ten of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Sub-targets that Systemair contribute to

Target 3.9: By 2030, substantially reduce the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air, water and soil pollution and contamination.

Why we contribute

Systemair contributes through supplying energy-efficient ventilation systems that provide clean, healthy and safe indoor air. With modern technical solutions and high-quality filters Systemair’s products considerably reduce the air’s pollution and possible contamination.

Poor air quality is a substantial cause of premature death. Systemair is proud of contributing to better health and a better quality of life.

Sustainable Products

Target 5.1: End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere.

Target 5.5: Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life.

Systemair contributes through setting internal guidelines and promoting the importance of equality. We believe that equality is a key enabler for us to successfully continue to grow and prosper. One of Systemair’s targets for 2025 is to achieve at least 25% female managers.

Sustainable Workplace

Target 8.5: By 2030, achieve full and productive employment and decent work for all women and men, including for young people and persons with disabilities, and equal pay for work of equal value

Target 8.7: Take immediate and effective measures to eradicate forced labour, end modern slavery and human trafficking and secure the prohibition and elimination of the worst forms of child labour, including recruitment and use of child soldiers, and by 2025 end child labour in all its forms

Target 8.8: Protect labour rights and promote safe and secure working environments for all workers, including migrant workers, in particular women migrants, and those in precarious employment

Systemair contributes by ensuring human and labour rights with established procedures and requirements on our own business as well as suppliers and partners.

Health and safety is a top priority for Systemair and we are continuously maintaining and improving our systematic work for reducing accidents and injuries in our operations.

Responsible Enterprise &
Sustainable Workplace

Target 7.3: By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency

Target 9.4: By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities

Target 11.6: By 2030, reduce the adverse per capita environmental impact of cities, including by paying special attention to air quality and municipal and other waste management

Systemair contributes through providing energy-efficient ventilation systems that use sustainable materials and have a sustainable life cycle approach to increase the resource-efficiency.

A significant part of todays carbon emissions are connected to the existing building stock, of which in many, inefficient and energy inefficient ventilation exists.

Increasing our own energy-efficiency in operations and logistics is part of our prioritized focus areas and contributes to a reduced carbon impact.

Sustainable Products &
Sustainable Operations

Target 12.3: By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses

Target 12.4: By 2020, achieve the environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their lifecycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce their release to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment

Target 12.5: By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse

Systemair contributes by providing solutions that protect the cold chain and reduce food waste.

Systematic work with reducing scrap and waste increases our material efficiency. Our aim is to recycle as much as possible of our scrap.

Hazardous material as well as possible air, soil and water pollution is managed in a responsible way to minimize impact and reduce risks of harming human health and the environment.

Our products are designed with a life cycle perspective and circularity in mind. They should be durable and easy to service and maintain for a long operational life. We aim to use sustainable materials that are possible to recycle or reuse.

Sustainable Operations &
Sustainable Products

Target 13.2: Integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning

Systemair contributes through working systematically with identifying our direct and indirect carbon emissions and strives to increase energy-efficiency and reduce carbon impact in our own operations and products.

We are increasing our efforts in identifying climate risks that could affect our operations and manage the risks by increasing our supply chain resilience.

Sustainable Operations &
Sustainable Products

Target 16.5: Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms

Systemair contributes through having a zero tolerance for bribery and corruption. One of Systemair’s important targets for 2025 is to have zero incidents of bribery and corruption.

Systemair works proactively to risk mitigate corruption incidents through policy commitment and training on the topic.

Responsible Enterprise

Target 17.3: Enhance the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development, complemented by multi-stakeholder partnerships that mobilize and share knowledge, expertise, technology and financial resources, to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in all countries, in particular developing countries

Systemair contributes through engaging in global partnerships such as the UN Global Compact and industry associations to share knowledge and promote sustainable practices.
